Want To Grab The New Oppo F7? Check Our Unbiased Review Here!
Vivo and Oppo are trying very hard to bring iPhoneX-like features in the budget segment. The two new launches – Oppo F7 and Vivo V9 – have striking similarities in design with Apple’s device, and yes, V9 is the first device to bring the notch to the budget segment. In all fairness, the price over 20k cannot be called ‘budget’ in the Indian market, but if you are looking for a cheaper replacement for the stunning iPhone X design, Oppo F7 might fit the bill. Here is our review on this new launch.
Specifications at a glance
Oppo F7 is priced at 22k, slightly lower than V9, which costs 23k. It is powered by the 2 MHz octa-core MediaTek Helio P60 processor, with 64GB inbuilt memory and 4GB RAM. Internal memory is further expandable up to 256GB via a microSD card. A special edition has also been launched by Oppo with price tag of 27k that gets 6GB RAM and 128GB ROM. It runs on custom Oppo skin on Android 8.1 straight from the box.
Oppo F7 has a stunning 6.23-inch FHD+ touchscreen, which offers incredible feedback even in broad sunlight. With resolution of 1080 pixels by 2280 pixels and 19:9 aspect ratio, the screen covers almost the entire front panel of the device.
The size of the screen doesn’t increase the weight though. Oppo F7 weighs just 158 grams. It gets a 3400mAh battery, which is non-removable and offers a day’s charge with average use. This is a dual-SIM device that only accepts Nano SIMs. All connectivity options and sensors are included.
For the camera, you get a 25MP shooter on front and 16MP one on the rear.
The good and bad
In all fairness, Oppo F7 doesn’t pack the best hardware, but it didn’t lag in any aspect while we tested it for multitasking and heavy gaming. It did warm up on longer video calls, and that was quite negligible. The display and cameras remain the most important highlights for this device, and while the design is similar to that of iPhone X, it does feel premium.
