cartridge exceeds the cost of printer itself. For that purpose you must be careful while changing the cartridge to get maximum possible ink for using. Following guidelines will help you.
Each printer manufacture makes a particular type if cartridge for it. If you have a HP printer the cartridge for it will be unique for that printer only. Similarly the Lexmark manufacturer also makes its own ink cartridge. So, read the printer manual carefully before changing the cartridge.
Don’t always change cartridge. Refill the existing cartridge with new ink instead. This will save some cash as well as ink. Because there may be some residual ink in the old cartridge. Do not waste it. Use the existing ink and fill the rest part with new ink. Whatever new ink is left out save for future use. It is very simple policy most people stick to.
You will generally have to change 4 types of cartridges such as black, yellow, magenta and cyan. You have to remove them to change the cartridge. Well, that is obvious. But the deal is to find the appropriate cartridge to change and remove safely. So, here we go
Open up the top of printer and search for a black box. You can find the different cartridges with their respective color on the top label. From that you can easily find out which one what.
Still, if you do not find them then maybe they are hidden under another part of printer. Look for a button on the top of the printer. It can be found easily. Push it gently for some time and you will get all the cartridges out. Find out which one to change and keep others in proper place. Use forefinger and thumb to remove the cartridges from the box.
Now look into the black box and the old cartridges. If you find any ink left in old cartridges then either remove them with tool kit for future use or clean them with a cloth if it is substantial in amount. Also clean the box because it may be an obstacle in refilling the ink or changing process by clogging the ports for new cartridges.
Install each new cartridge properly. It is highly recommended that you read the manual of the printer before inserting them. Ensure that you install each new cartridge in proper place from where each of them came out. Any irregularity will cause malfunction of the printer.
After you hear a particular sound, be sure the cartridges are properly inserted. Close cover of the printer. Push up the button on the top again which you used to extract the cartridges.
Now you are done with changing the cartridge properly!!!
